Maureen Colburn, AIA, LEED AP BD+C

Maureen is an architect and leader of the Performance Services Group in LHB’s Minneapolis office. An advocate of sustainable design for over 20 years, Maureen manages a wide range of projects types from the building to community scales focusing on the research, design, and evaluation of high performance environments. She was a primary contributor to the “Impacts of Office Plug Load Reduction Strategies” project that proposes effective ways to reduce plug load energy consumption. Maureen also manages the Minnesota Local Government Project for Energy Planning, a U.S. Department of Energy-funded effort that provides communities with planning tools to engage in energy and greenhouse gas reduction planning.

Maureen has co-founded several groups that advocate for equity and sustainability in the architecture profession: the AIA Minnesota Women in Architecture Committee, Architecture for Humanity Minnesota, and the Minneapolis-St. Paul Living Building Challenge Collaborative. She is also a past chair of the AIA Minnesota Committee on the Environment, recipient of a 2011 AIA Minnesota Young Architects award, and graduate of the Leadership Twin Cities (LTC) class of 2009 and AIA Minnesota Leadership Forum Class of 2014. She currently chairs the Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce LTC Alumni Engagement Committee and serves on the Dunwoody Architecture Program Advisory Committee.
